Zooming into Your Screen

To zoom into your screen, follow these steps:

1. Go to the apple menu and choose system preferences.
2. Once in system preferences, select Universal Access.

3. In universal access click once on the radial button that reads on. This is located underneath the word zoom.

4. In universal access click once on the radial button that reads on. This is located underneath the word zoom.

5. You’re almost done. Click once on options and make sure you select the option that says “Only when the pointer reaches an edge”

And that’s it. Click on Done and then close system preferences. Once the preference has been enabled:

To Zoom In

Hold down the command and option key and press the plus + symbol. This will zoom into where your pointer in located.

To Zoom Out

Hold down the command and option keys and press the minus – symbol.

Changing The Default Web Browser

In order to change the default web browser on your mac, you must do the following:

Launch Safari
From the Safari menu choose Preferences
Make sure the General Tab is selected
Next to “New Windows Open With:”, choose a browser from the default popup menu.

My personal favorite web browser is Firefox.

Macworld Encore

Last January, I was given the opportunity to attend Macworld. It was a great conference. Given the time constraints, I was only able to go to 3 sessions. The organizers of the conference have uploaded a number of the sessions from both the 2008 and 2007 conferences. There are hours and hours of classes on everything from Mac OS X, Applications, Photography, Design, iPod and Technology. It gives you a chance to see what you missed.
